Caring For Your Jewellery

Follow these steps to ensure your beautiful jewellery is as good as new.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Getting your jewellery cleaned once a year is a good idea. It makes it look brand new all over again and gives a trained professional the opportunity to check it for any unnoticed damage.

TIPS TO REDUCE WEAR AND TEAR

We encourage customers to remove the jewellery prior to cleaning, bathing and swimming. Ensure that the jewellery is not exposed to cosmetics, hair products and perfume. Even better wear your jewellery last.

Always protect your jewellery from knocks, scratches, chemicals and extreme temperatures. Remove bracelets and rings if you’re doing any manual labour, including housework. Protect your gemstones and marble by taking care not to take directs hits to jewellery.

STORING YOUR JEWELLERY

Take care to protect your jewellery and always wrap each piece individually in a cloth. The fabric lined jewellery box you received with your item is a perfect way to store your jewellery to protect the pieces from damage and dirt. Try to keep pieces apart, so that they don't rub together or tangle up.

CLEANING

Metal- Use a soft lint free cloth or even better a gold polishing cloth to keep gold jewellery looking its best.

Gemstones- Hand cream, natural oils and general dirt is likely to get between the gaps in your most loved jewellery. They can be easily cleaned with warm water, a touch of mild soap and a soft brush or cloth.

Enhance your emeralds by treating them with some form of fine oil, don’t rub them too hard.

Also note that Emeralds and inlaid jewellery should never be cleaned in an ultrasonic cleaning device.
